I have always been drawn to innovation, but didn't fully realize just how much until I began working as an Industrial Hygienist at GE"s Global Research facility in Niskayuna, NY. I worked with GE's inventors as they created prototypes, conducted experiments, and scaled-up their processes. I became fascinated with the new and wonderful things they were creating and I looked forward to the first several minutes of each day, when I learned about the neat things the inventors were working on! After a brief conversation with a Patent Attorney, I learned that Patent Attorneys deal with new inventions all day every day!  When I arrived at home that evening, I told my wife Erin that I was going to prepare for and apply to law school, in hopes of becoming a patent lawyer. Eight months later, I was a law student at the University of New Hampshire School of Law. And I had finally found my love for learning! Law school and my career since have been a fascinating journey.

After completing law school, I obtained a masters degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University. Not only did a Computer Engineering degree make me more competitive in the job market, but it opened new worlds of coding, programming, and almost limitless creations that are at our fingertips!

I had the privilege to work for a world-class patent law firm in Washington, DC where I litigated, prepared, and prosecuted patents in a broad range of technologies, including: medical devices, digital healthcare systems and devices, wearable devices, computer architectures, data processing techniques, network communications, data generation and analysis, unmanned aerial vehicles, optical systems, and software/business methods.

I currently work as an intellectual property attorney for an award-winning research and development lab that focuses on 5G, video compression, and next-generation WiFi technologies.

I am currently working on my fifth college degree.  I have always been fascinated by business, so I am slowly working on an MBA degree from Boston University.

My love of learning extends beyond my career and college studies. In recent years after wanting to know how to make homemade cheeses and yogurt, my family and I purchased a miniature jersey milk cow. We have since moved on from our miniature dairy, but you can often find me tinkering with something, keeping bees, raising chickens, weeding our vegetable garden, learning to turn a wooden bowl on my lathe, creating a curriculum for a new HEALI course, creating a tee-shirt design, or trying to learn some other new skill.

My wife Erin and I have been home-educating our children for over 10 years. We are fully committed to this way of life. We are so grateful for the teachers and mentors that have inspired our children! I am thrilled to share some of my experiences through these law and innovation courses. I hope to add value to your student's future.
